Remember the Alamo

Texas History students used MinecraftEDU to remember the Alamo. In small groups, students collaboratively built their fortress models from book sketches including walls, barracks, powder and ammunition rooms, cannons, gardens, chapel and more. Students also had to include major characters of the battle. Some students incorporated the Custom NPC (non-playable character) mod into their settings. This allowed characters to be named, move, and display speech bubbles when clicked.  Other groups chose to represent their characters as blocks, adding signs for speech bubbles which proved to be a very innovative solution that worked equally well to explain the story of the Alamo.  Enjoy the student videos below of the Alamo.
