Get to know Betty: "I am so excited to join you all at Grisham as your Administrative Assistant. I’ve been with RRISD since 2011 (Canyon Vista, Stony Point and my latest position was Attendance Specialist at Deerpark Middle School. Prior to coming to RRISD, I worked at VISD in Victoria, TX at middle schools as Registrar and Attendance Clerk.
My hobbies include doting on my 4 grandchildren -ages 25, 21, 15 and 10 who keep me young. I have a son (48) and daughter (46). As I typed those ages, it really made me feel a little old. LOL. I also like traveling, reading, antique shopping, baking and most important - enjoying life to its fullest. "

Fun Fact: "One year I was real lazy and left all my Christmas decorations up until March. Also, I’m a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan (still waiting and waiting and waiting for our next Super Bowl ring)."

Get to know Noel: "I immigrated to the United States when I was 13 after living in Dubai, Singapore, and the Philippines, and I’ve been living in Texas ever since, splitting my time between Austin and the Rio Grande Valley. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em Horns!) with a degree in Psychology, and Asian Studies. After college, I got a job at a call center for a Fortune 500 company. Working my way up the ranks, I became an employee trainer, where I discovered a love for teaching people. I transitioned into the field of education by starting as a substitute teacher. I then became an instructional aide before becoming a Math and Special Education teacher. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, video games, comic books, and going to concerts. I also love hanging out with my dog Tadashi, and my nephews and nieces. I’ve been in education for 7 years now and I’m looking forward to continuing my career here at Grisham."

All Grisham students are required to wear their One Badge on a lanyard at all times while on campus. Every student will receive a district-issued One Badge and lanyard at the beginning of the school year. Be prepared to wear your One Badge every day, all day while on campus! Students are welcome to personalize their look by using their own school-appropriate lanyard if they prefer. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and secure!

Get to know Elva: "I am a native Texan, born and raised in McAllen, recently returned after 15 years in Washington, D.C. where I worked for the Center for Multicultural Equity and Access on the Georgetown University campus. I also worked as a grant writer and program coordinator for the Institute for College Preparation, which guided 6th-12th grade D.C. students toward a college career.
I love to read, write, and create in any way possible. I have a 16-year-old daughter who shares my passion for creativity and we often work on projects together.
Since moving back to Texas I have also learned to two-step, which has been really fun!
I'm looking forward to learning and growing with the Grisham community!"

Get to know Paul: "I am married to Rosie, and we have three daughters: Jaylene, 24; Izzy, 20; and Karyssa, 15. I proudly served in the U.S. Army for 25 years before retiring in 2015.
For more than 10 years, I have worked for Round Rock ISD as a Special Education Paraprofessional. I also spent two years as a Special Education Teacher and Girls' Athletic Coach at C.D. Fulkes Middle School.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and attending concerts of 1980s and freestyle music. I try to smile all the time, so if you see me without a smile, run!"

Fun Fact: "I learned how to pop-lock in middle school, and I can still do it today. I may not be as good as I once was, but it still entertains the kids!"

Get to know Trish: "I am originally from Victoria, Texas and have lived in Austin for half of my life. My husband Paul and I have two boys: Thomas,who will be a freshman at Texas A&M, and Andrew, a junior in the Westwood band and the lacrosse team. I have been a substitute teacher in the district since 2019. I love to travel, read and hike with my family."

Get to know Janice: "I am excited to be joining the Grisham family as an Educational Assistant II in Special Education. I have many years of experience serving my community through volunteering with schools, PTA, youth sports, dance, and Sunday school. I also have experience working in office administration and as a substitute educator, which strengthened my passion for supporting students and helping them succeed.
Outside of work, I’m the proud mom of nine children—five girls and four boys—and two wonderful grandchildren, so life is always full of activity! I enjoy cheering on my kids in their activities, being involved in my church, and spending quality time with my family. I’m truly looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming part of the Grisham community."

Fun Fact: "I attended Grisham Middle School from 1988–1991 and was a Grisham cheerleader. It’s such a full-circle moment to be returning to the school that helped shape me!"

Get to know John: "For the past 22 years I have been both a middle school and high school practitioner. As a proud classroom teacher for 15 years, I have taught math at all levels.I have had opportunities to coach both in athletics and Academic Decathlon. I have also worked as a math instructional coach and department chair. I have been privileged to be an administrator for 7 years working as both an assistant principal and principal prior to my new role here at Grisham. For the past two years, I took some time to refill my teaching bucket at Vista Ridge High School.
I have soon to be eleven-year old twins, Levi and Scout. Levi is headed into 5th grade at Patsy Sommer, where my wife Marjorie, works as a kindergarten teacher. Scout will be going into 5th grade as well, but at Fern Bluff where she will continue with her amazing FAC class"

"I'm signed up for and training to complete a full Ironman (140.6 miles by swimming, biking, and running...a marathon.. all in one day) this spring in April."

Get to know Seth: "I am a native of Madison, Wisconsin and have been living in Texas since 2010. I am an avid sports fan, especially Wisconsin teams, (Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers & Milwaukee Bucks!). I am very much a girl dad, with a 13 year old daughter named Ella, and a dog named Valerie. In my educational career in elementary schools, I have served as a 4th grade self-contained teacher and an Assistant Principal. I have also served in middle schools as a reading interventionist, social behavioral skills support, and as a SpEd EA. Overall, this is my 10th year as an Assistant Principal, but my first year in middle school. I am very honored to be a Grizzly and am looking forward to serving, supporting and learning from the entire Grisham community."

If you are a graduating senior, please return your device and charger to your school’s ITS before graduation.

Grisham's 8th grade IB Community Project Exhibition was today and it was incredible. Students spent months researching real community issues, taking action, and presenting their work today. Their creativity, dedication, and passion were on full display.

eSports is coming to Grisham! eSports is a great way for your child to learn about leadership, teamwork, staying safe online, and focus. This will take place at Grisham after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:35-5:00. Classes start soon!
